Identification of QTLs Controlling Radish Root Shape Using Multiple Populations

چکیده

Root shape is an important characteristic that affects the commodity of radish (Raphanus sativus L.), which can be measured using ratio root length (RL) to diameter (RD). Although it known controlled by quantitative trait loci (QTLs), reliable QTLs for are still lacking. In present study, we used three F2 populations (1902, 1908 and 1909) derived from crossing five cultivars with highly divergent shapes perform QTL-seq. A total 1282 individuals were determine maximum diameter. High-depth resequencing six extreme pools parents was performed, QTL-seq detect controlling shape. We identified seven distributing on chromosomes (R1, R2, R4, R5 R7), among rs7.1 rs7.2 had overlap 1.02 Mb (13.79–14.81 Mb). addition, two QTLs, rs4.1 rs4.2, adjacent each other chromosome R4. conclusion, this study provides foundation fine mapping functional analysis breeding in radish.

From Qtls to Genes Controlling Root Traits in Maize

In maize, two major quantitative-trait loci (QTLs) on chromosome bins 1.06 and 2.04 have been shown to affect root architecture and a number of agronomic traits, including grain yield. The QTL on bin 2.04 (root-ABA1) also affects root lodging and ABA concentration in the leaf. To evaluate the effects of root-ABA1 better, near-isogenic lines (NILs) have been produced and evaluated per se and in ...

Mapping multiple QTLs of geometric shape of the mouse mandible

High resolution genome scans from complex, advanced genetic designs yield many potential QTLs (Navarro & Klingenberg 2006, Valdar et al. 2006). However, the complex structure of the linkage disequilibrium between molecular markers and the unbalance of the population (i.e. family structure) lead to the inflation of the genetic association and the results from the initial genome scan produce many...

Construction of a chromosome-assigned, sequence-tagged linkage map for the radish, Raphanus sativus L. and QTL analysis of morphological traits

The radish displays great morphological variation but the genetic factors underlying this variability are mostly unknown. To identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling radish morphological traits, we cultivated 94 F4 and F5 recombinant inbred lines derived from a cross between the rat-tail radish and the Japanese radish cultivar 'Harufuku' inbred lines. Eight morphological traits (ovul...

Identification of environmentally stable QTLs controlling Saponin content in Glycine max

Saponins are secondary metabolites that are widely distributed in plants. There are two major saponin precursors in soybean: soyasapogenol A, contributing to the undesirable taste, and soyasapogenol B, some of which have health benefits. It is important to control the ratio and content of the two major saponin groups to enhance the appeal of soybean as a health food. The structural diversity of...
